The Story of the Game

The year 2099 was the worst year in the history of the world. I don't know if the religious leaders who claimed that the apocalypse was approaching were right, but I'm sure that we brought our own apocalypse upon ourselves. I'm talking about a world where people were enemies just because of their different ethnic backgrounds, where they killed each other not because of their skin colors or languages but simply because they existed.

A world where the population was increasing at an incredible speed and natural resources were being depleted even faster... A world where the hole in the ozone layer covered more than half of the Earth, and almost all the ice caps had melted, leaving only a few remnants.

First, the coasts were flooded... Then, the greenhouse effect eliminated the climates. As the world turned into a vast desert, politicians were only interested in enriching themselves further. Countries were breaking into smaller fragments, territorial disputes were increasing as their spheres of influence diminished, and wars arising from resource sharing became more frequent.

No one wanted to listen to those who wanted to bring order to the world and end the wars, but they managed to hold a meeting. This meeting took place in the safest place, far away from dangers, with the idea that all world leaders should come together not to coexist but to survive.

On July 25, 2099, in the oldest of the old continents, in the Serengeti region of Africa, 217 leaders of different countries gathered, unaware of the unexpected end awaiting them.

A religious group, desiring to expedite the apocalypse and thus reunite with their gods, did something that no one had dared to do before. They obtained a weapon known as the "Tesla Gun" or "earthquake machine" and created an earthquake measuring 8.6 on the Richter scale during the opening of the conference in the Serengeti, annihilating the leaders of 217 countries. What was lost was not only the leaders of world countries but also the belief in peace.

The apocalypse they anticipated did not occur. However, the world's largest war broke out at that moment. All countries started blaming each other and accusing the terrorists who killed their leaders. Then, other weapons came into play. Countries used nuclear weapons without any concern, unaware that they were also destroying their own future along with their enemies.

The chain of earthquakes that began in the Serengeti with the firing of the Tesla Gun started to change the face of the world with the explosions of nuclear weapons. Oceania was the first to disappear. Then, over time, the American continent shifted and merged with Africa. Tsunamis submerged Europe, which had already shrunk due to the collapse of ocean floors. Asia suffered the least damage.

The war lasted for six years and did not completely eradicate humanity and its history, but it led to the near extinction of dwindling natural resources. Those who survived the war migrated to the high plateaus of Asia. They tried to sustain their lives in small settlements, keeping their distance from each other. Freshwater sources had completely dried up, and the world had become an increasingly challenging place to live.

The people who came from the destroyed regions had different nationalities, religions, and political beliefs. Although the established units still harbored past hostilities, the desire to survive prevailed.

There was no central control on the new continent. There was no single country, and no structure was established to prevent war. However, when determining the living areas of those who came here became the biggest problem, the only solution was to establish a "World Council" and distribute the habitable lands "equally." The World Council provided a certain amount of raw materials to each newly established "Life Zone" for its development and livability.

However, there were those who used technological advancements not only to experience life but also to take away the right to life from others. Whether to defend themselves or to seize the resources produced by others, producing weapons required the development of weapon technology. The most important thing in the "Life Zones" became the use of the produced raw materials to advance technology.

The "World Council" could regulate trade between the "Life Zones," but it had no enforcement power to prevent wars. The Council managed to establish a system where wars took place in an organized manner. According to this system, when one "Life Zone" attacked another, its military units could freely pass through the borders and airspace of non-belligerent "Life Zones," but the attacking side could not carry out military operations anywhere outside the Life Zone it declared war on.

The scenario, events, and actions designed for the "Mufreze Online" game are entirely fictional.
